Achronikó: “Timeless, Perpetual, Everlasting”

Rúben Alcaide Jesus

Achronikó: “Timeless, Perpetual, Everlasting”. Do these concepts hold up to today’s standards for non-academic artistic discourse, or have they been rendered obsolete? Has the mainstream adoption of art criticism created an intellectual black hole?

Rúben Alcaide Jesus is a Portuguese director and photographer. Born in 1996, he currently lives in Thessaloniki. Natural from the sunny lands of the south and strongly influenced not only by his exasperating environment, but also by his romance with literature, Rúben’s work arises from an overwhelming necessity to merge the absurd with the authentic.

Considering shame as a collaborator in creative processes

Annie Pender

Shame is an emotive conspirator. Shame internalised is taboo and rarely recognised in public. Shame is an ancient power tool between individuals, families and societies. What part does shame play in artistic practice and self-expression? And if we witness shame as a collaborator in the process, what becomes possible?

Annie Pender is a London-based artist and psychotherapist, working with individuals and on larger creative projects. Her practice spans the arts and therapeutic fields. She researches our relationship with life, facilitating experiential approaches to transition, growth, and connection while offering the opportunity to foster creative curiosity and new perspectives.
