Photobook as a process: the challenge of the self-publish era

Marco Castelli

Which is the role of photobooks through the self-publish panorama? How to enrich stunning and well-designed objects with empowering layers? What’s behind the creative process? When and why should you print them? Which are your goals?

Marco Castelli (Italy) lives and works in Thessaloniki. Both his personal and documentary research move through a deep interest in human environment and life, looking for new approaches to visual art and creative communication. His works have been awarded, published and displayed internationally.

Free improvisation and sound
Dimos Vryzas

We will attempt to approach the concept of free improvisation by analysing the practice of “deep listening” which is the core of improvisation. Furthermore, we will discuss how this genre of music relates to sound as well as its socio-political aspect.
Dimos Vryzas is a violinist, improviser, sound artist and composer from Thessaloniki, Greece. For several years now his focus in music has moved toward free improvisation. Creating various soundscapes, working with noises, composing music for film and theater are also at the core of his work.
